The contractors are making no money off this. The MRAP production lines are cold. No new vehicles are rolling off of them. This is excess inventory left over from the ramp up for Iraq and Afghanistan. These MRAPS should be in the hands of border patrol.

Obama said he wanted a civilian police force as well armed and funded as the military.

They dont call it a Civil Defense force, that would imply we need (or perhaps that we deserve) defense. The official name is National Civilian Community Corps.
I think of it as the NatCCC, or more simply, as the NatCs...
