With that raid on the hospital in Monrovia we can expect to see a major out break over the next 3 weeks. No telling how far nor where it will spread then.
There are many viral infections besides Ebola. We knew a man when we were living in Nepal, who returned from a trip to India on a Tuesday with a slight cough and was dead on Saturday from viral pneumonia.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
One thing I don’t understand is this - New “victims” just popped up dead.
At least some of these would have real good suspicion(s) that they have serious ‘viral infection’ problem (ebola or not).
Is it denial? Do they just ‘stay at home’ and die? Do they even seek some kind of treatment? Even counting the 20-21 days of lag time. Why wouldn’t healthcare professions be on high alert especially now ebola spread is very real?
