This image below is from LLWS FB page - Sunday night Philly vs. Texas (32K attendance).
The link takes you to the official LLWS page and a photo gallery.
At the end of the inning, he went over to the opposing dugout and apologized to the RI manager - who patted the kid on the back and said he should be happy for hitting the HR. Forgettabout it.
I despise espn, but there are many things they do so well (like Gameday, documentaries, etc.) that you have to give them credit. I think they do a great job with the LLWS as well.
Thanks for the link.
Little League is very important in teaching kids how to play baseball. I’m just a bit uncomfortable however, with competition so intense for this level of early play.
You need to up the volume a bit.
I saw that as it was happening. Great speech
Kids from my hometown of Pearland, Texas, are competing and we are so proud of them.
Last month was the AAU Track and Field Meet Junior Olympics which was held in Des Moines, Iowa. This is the second year my grandson has competed. There was ZERO press and TV coverage of this great event. Wrote ESPN both years and questioned why they didn’t have any coverage at all. Received no response from them. Most of the athletes competing are Black. Seems to me that daytime coverage by ESPN, even on a limited basis, would be a way to show Black youth that there are other ways to make your mark in the world other than looting and protesting.
