From what I understand, contact with air kills the virus. Although a “mist” is comprised of small droplets, those droplets would have to contact someone before that mist dried out enough to kill the virus, and I would expect that would be a very short time. It wouldn’t truly be “airborne” in the technical sense of a viable airborne pathogen.

If someone who I expected had Ebola was coming towards my position, I would insure I was not directly downwind and put him/her down well before any such “mist” could become a “threat”, and I would deploy fire to clean up the immediate mess depending upon the circumstances.
