The only thing I would say is unhealthy is the huge amount of salt some have in their ingredients.
I’m doomed.
First Twinkies now Ramen Noodles. I’m not eating nuts and berries. I revolt.
“metabolic Syndrome” is akin to saying to a person they are weight challenged. To put it in blunter terms, that person is suffers from being fat.
The real danger are those flavor packets with enough sodium to kill a horse. Ramen noodles are fine however if you discard the “soup” brine after cooking, then stir-fry with some vegetables. The convenience of an instant noodle but without the health risks.
I wonder how much threat there is from the noodles?
I wonder how much threat there is from the powdered flavoring?
Ok, so don't buy the ones in styro packaging. If you don't want all the salt, then only use half the seasoning packet which tastes better than using the whole thing.
I’ve never had Ramen Noodles, am I missing something?
This is about ramen noodles, I promise.
I recall working in a ‘IT’ company in 2000.
The Gore-Bush election media made fiasco was going on.
One of the IT (Customer Service, Level Two) granolas said to me that we should have internet voting.
I asked him if our software worked 100% of the time: “No.” was the response.
“Then why should we have Internet voting when it’s not 100% reliable?” I asked - (BTW - the reliability rate of our software was less than 70% and he knew it).
“It’s better!” he said, “you can trust it.”
“I do not trust ANYTHING on the internet,” I replied.
He ignored me.
He did get reprimanded for stealing multiple cups of single-serve ramen noodles that were in a barrel for the annual Thanksgiving food drive.
He was making tens of thousands of dollars a year and he took food intended for the needy at Thanksgiving.
I mostly despise granola types as they cannot be trusted.
I am not anti-ramen to set the record straight.
I add a tablespoon of canola oil for some extra calories.
Supposed to be good for you too, but who knows.
The real issue is carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates are poison for humans. Doesn’t matter whether sugar, starch, beans, fruit, white, brown, refined, “whole grains,” etc., etc. etc.
The government will continue to propagandize for carbs as long as farmers can hire lobbyists.
The Ramen Rater Top 10.
I don’t know if it’s on the list or not but Indo-Me brand BBQ Chicken flavor is outstanding!
A buck-forty-nine at Aldi gets ya 2# of angel hair pasta. Cook up some, add a dollop of butter/oil + salt/parm and it’s not bad. 32oz of pasta goes a long way... Big Lots usually has tomato sauce 25¢/6oz can, add onion/garlic powders, etc, good for 2 or 3 servings. Cheap hot chow!
How will this affect the growth of the Ramen Catholic Church?
Aren’t they loaded with MSG? We used to buy them until we realized our second son goes a little crazy when he eats them. Or maybe he was eating the flavor packets without the noodles. Regardless, he was such a jerk that I started reading ingredient lists of all sorts of foods. No more Doritos for him. No more Ramen. No more Takis. Etc. It made a big difference once we figured it out. Son #4 has the same problem.
Hey my Mom loves them, she turns 100 in a month!
Oh thanks for ruining any pleasure I might derive from the two noodle bowls left in the pantry. :-)
Anything is better than kale.
Actually, TOTALLY TRUE.
Yes, I would eat noodles if I had no other food (and I do keep them for “that day”), but NO, I NEVER eat noodles as long as I have a choice of other items.
Wheat kills (at least today’s hybridized version) - and sorry, the doomsayers are right this time, for once.
