Oakland wants to move to San Jose, but tehy just signed a 10-year extension at the O.Co. Coliseum.
The Lerners bought the team knowing the deal MLB made when they were the owners. I don’t understand why MLB gave the deal to Angelos for a NL team moving to DC. But they did. Selig says he is going to work it out before he departs...uh huh.
Then RSN money blew up, 162 2-4 hour dvr-proof blocks of advertising a year. And DC’s TV market dwarfs Baltimore, although the Orioles get better ratings like you would expect for an established team. The methodology for how they came up with a money number for fair market value is in dispute, but the deal says they have to go to arbitration and Angelos signed it. But the fair market value of Nats TV rights is staggering in todays market.
The funny thing is the Nats coming to DC might have been the best thing for O’s fans. The O’s got good again right when the Nats did. Heck, they’re both in fist place in their divisions. Tonight the Nats came from behind and pulled a walk off ground rule double to beat the Bucs. Go Nats!

If it was any other sport he would have been in long ago. But that’s the reason the baseball Hof is the only one that matters, for all its flaws. You can be just as famous for not being in. They don’t have a mandatory minimum inducted rule, and they use it on occasion, however imperfectly. And anyone that cares about the Hof in the first place knows exactly what 4,256 + Rose means, I reckon.
