The labor savings allow a restaurant to spend approximately twice as much on high quality ingredients and the gourmet cooking techniques make the ingredients taste that much better.
Not here in the USA. We’ll be using “Dreamers” for these purposes for the next 100 years.

It won’t do your windows or check the oil.. yet...
but your car can likely tell it you need oil via it’s computer system.

Not sure how a robot gas pump causes unemployment. The only states in the US that have gas station attendants pumping gas are NJ and OR. On the other hand, think how many job must have been created to design, build, distribute, install, and maintain such a complex device.
The jobs don't belong to those that have them now.
They keep them on sufferance, as long as they do a good job for less than it can be done by someone, or something, else.
