There should be a maximum alimony amount and maximum child support amounts. To base it on someone’s current income with the assumption that it will always be that high is a cruel form of slavery.
I agree with you in theory however what is “maximum”.
I really don’t feel any pity for someone that once lived in a $4 million dollar home that has to downsize to a $300,000 home. Or has to go from driving a new Mercedes to a new Honda.
I see absolutely no legal or moral justification for 5 figure monthly child support payments. Even the most expensive prep schools in the country are going to be $60k and that takes care of 9 months of the year.
Too often ex-wives maintain their lifestyle on child support payments and the kids see nothing of it.
I don’t think we want this tracking off into bad divorce/child support stories because the thread would never end.
WHOEVER WANTS the divorce should pay!!! If the Wife does.....she gets NOTHING!
