KABUL, Afghanistan -- Actor-comedian Robin Williams brought some much deserved laughs to U.S. troops in Afghanistan this holiday season. This is Williams' fifth USO tour. He'll spend seven days touring the country and bringing Christmas cheer to the troops.
Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong is also visiting the troops.
"It's really nice to see there is a lot of people, famous people that care about the troops, come out and give us a show and boost the morale while we're here. I truly appreciate it," said U.S. Army Sgt. Chad Opmiller.
"It's an absolutely wonderful opportunity to come out here and celebrate the holiday season with people that appreciate our service to the country. It's absolutely wonderful," said U.S. Army Master Sgt. Laune Blundel.
It’s clear that he made them happy and lifted their spirits. That’s wonderful.
Yes he did.

Yes, he did as I just learned today. Thanks for posting this. Not the world’s biggest Robin Williams fan, but always good to give credit where it is due.
Lol! I hope those guys were our allies.
My feelings exactly. I didn't care for him much either as an actor or comedian, although I did like the movie Awakenings, with him and DeNiro.
Yes. Must give him credit for that. Hope he didn’t mix in his liberal views.
Thanks. I actually hadn’t seen it before.
My cuz who is now stationed at Sokor saw his act when he was in Iraq from 06 to 07’. He makes jokes about Bush but RW saw no one was laughing so he quickly moves on to non political stuff. Yeah he’s a lib but I’ll give him his due as he brightened the day of a lot of guys there...including my cousin.
Thanks for sharing. That was really special. His improv after ‘retreat’ was perfect.
He always gave me the willies, but didn’t seem to have an agenda other than to make people laugh.
The world is a poorer place today, a good guy all around
Do you remember what it said on that shirt?
Thanks for that. Great to hear a firsthand account.
Nice big American flag in the background. At first I thought it might be the flag of some middle eastern country. Lol.
Thanks for the video links...
