Stewart still blipped the throttle as he was going by (a proverbial “screw you”) which would throw the rear end out towards the other driver. I understand he was hit by the rear wheel. I think it was a little too much Testosterone and ego on both sides. Stewart is not blameless. I have raced dirt cars before. Also no reason to go by so fast.
I have always told my children and any adults who would listen:
If your in a wreck on the interstate, never stay on the road. Same applies to a racetrack. The only one to blame for this is the kid who let his testosterone get the best of him. Rules say stay in the car.
And remember, night race wearing a black suit. May have never been seen by Stewart.
I think the jink the rear end took was a result of the rear tire hitting the other driver. My son has pro software for video work and he looked at it, slowed it down as much as possible and then froze it.
Too bad the kid had such a dose of “bad ass” to not just stay close to his car to do his salute.
Stewart was going the same speed as the other cars, remember, no tranny on sprinters(just and in and out box) and going slow doesn’t work.
