The Sergeant called for backup to help get the large predator from the brush.
If that thing had a sign around its neck saying "I am a dog", he wouldn't have needed any backup. He'd have shot it.......

Oh crap. You finally get a good news story, then the cops have to go and screw it all up.

I wonder what the local tv station program director thinks, seeing the newscaster finishing his story with a microphone in one hand, and the slimy head of a live python in the other? Snake bite not covered by policy, due to “Pre-existing foolishness of hired talker”

Large python that has been eating Port St. Lucie neighborhood's cats captured by cops Cleese?

If the Florida Legislature had any sense, and any backbone, the would outlaw all foreign species of snakes except in zoos. Give a 30 day surrender on current snakes, then a $50,000 fine for any infraction.

How stupid:
1. They want people to catch snakes, but first they need a permit.
2. They didn't kill it like they would your dog.
3. They are giving it too a "licensed" breeder. (Flori-duh doesn't have enough snakes yet?)

My two tuxedo cats would have made lunchmeat out of that snake. My girls don’t like being f@#ked with.

Just shoot it. Unfortunately, there are now thousands of Burmese pythons and a bunch of other non-native large herps which are decimating Florida wildlife and pets. I would not have hesitated to shoot that snake.

Are they
sure it’s the snake’s fault?
