Fundamentally, government schooling is ( and **always** has been) a single-payer and compulsory-use socialist entitlement.

So.....Are you surprised that the Marxofascists ( liberals-progressives-leftists-socialists) now have absolute control?

Compulsory single-payer schooling ( Prussian Military-model) was a progressive idea from the beginning.

Progressives have always controlled teacher training and curriculum development.

Progressives have always pushed for greater and greater centralization.

Progressives have always pushed for greater and greater secularization so that by the 1960s God was reduced to a quick prayer and scripture in the morning followed by a non-stop godless worldview until the last bell of the day was rung. Today, the single-payer schools are completely godless.

Progressives have always pushed that boundaries of society's morals and ethics.

If an institution is built upon a foundation of single-payer socialism, then don't be surprised that socialists run it!

And....IT CAN NOT NOT NOT NOT be fixed because fundamentally government schooling is single-payer socialist schooling and **always** has been. It must be abolished.

In parallel with reading, the same sin was committed over and over, in every subject and classroom. New Math (and later Reform Math) weren’t trying to teach math; arguably, they were trying to teach an inability at math.

The destructive work of contemporary education carried on against the development of students' conceptual abilities from the earliest grades on is compounded, as their education advances to the higher grades by the teaching of a whole collection of irrationalist doctrines that constitute the philosophical substance of contemporary liberal arts education.

These doctrines constitute a systematic attack on reason and its role in human life. Among them are irrational skepticism, collectivism, Marxism, racism, nationalism, feminism, cultural relativism, determinism, logical positivism, existentialism, linguistic analysis behaviorism, freudianism, and Keynesianism. Education consisting of these doctrines are responsible for the hordes of graduates turned out over the last decades who have had no conception of the meaning and value of the Constitution and history of the United States, of the meaning and value of Western civilization itsef, or indeed, of the meaning and value of membership in the human race.

If you had enough power, you moved on to Communism

Nope, Communism is something that cannot happen; wouldn’t last for more than a week on any large scale. It might work on a family level, or even small neighborhood but not well and not for long.

One of the main tenants of “Marxism” is that the state will “whither away”. Another is “from each, etc...”. That part could not happen without a powerful government to enforce the redistribution. These 2 tenants cannot coexist.

All so-called “communist” govts have been Socialist. Some have been more brutal than others, but none have been “communist”. That philosophy really can’t exist in any species that has a concept of self. Thus the only place it exists is in the insect world.

But generally there was a sense that Socialism was softer. If you had enough power, you moved on to Communism, which was more coercive

As I understand the meaning of socialism and communism, the former has state ownership of the "means of productions," and the latter has state ownership of all property in addition to ownership of the means of production.

People think Sweden is a socialist state, Actually, businesses are not taxed there. They tax the $h!t out of income. They are a welfare state. Even in the Soviets darkest time, there was a black market where ordinary citizens could trade. They corrupted the communists and felled the Soviets.

Looking for ideologies to condemn is tricky given the lax meaning we give terms. We really need to understand that Power and wealth are intertwined. One seeks the other. The tendency is for the political class to go fascist whereas the masses should go Galt. The problem is that there are huge numbers of petty people in the masses who are happy for the crumbs the political class throws to them. They petty class is about 47 percent and rising.
