I’ve read somewhere that storing chlorine powder..the kind they use in pools....can be hazardous....do you know anything like this?

I haven’t seen anything on storage other than do not store calcium hypochlorite in metal or near metal. You should always wear a duct mask safety glasses and gloves when handling.

Once the chlorine from the bleach has destroyed the algae and the toxins, the water can be boiled to drive off the chlorine.

granular chlorine will create chlorine gas - it has sent me to the hosp twice - you get a whiff - first you cough - just minor but over the next hour your lungs begin creating phlegm to the point where you pass out - o2 in the hosp is about all you get - no fun
