Which breeds would you eliminate to eliminate the 'pit bull' problem?
At this point I don’t know how one can elminate the pit bull problem. So many of those have been abandoned to run in dog packs when their owner can no longer handle them (often between the ages of 1.5 to 2 years when they begin to show startling agression after behaving so cuddly as a puppy). That means many many cross breeds and in some areas, packs of dogs hunting together.
Then you have pit bull breeders intentionally breeding pits to resemble rottweillers in color. Releasing pits to breed at will and intentionally breeding to make them look like rotties are spreading the damaging genetics. Then crossbreeds that kill are denied by pit nutters as being pits. Big mess.
I would go look up the latest list that home insurance companies have developed to limit their liability but I imagine you can do that as well as I. I have not memorized the names/breeds, I’d have to look them up based on human fatalities, maulings and ancestry/bloodlines.
