I compare this situation to the behavior of the Catholic Church when all their pedophile scandals were coming out. The Church did the best they could to keep a lid on it. They put the protection of their reputation ahead of bringing the perpetrators in their midst to justice.

However, like Nixon found out, the cover-up always has worse consequences than just coming clean.

Now most priests in the Catholic Church are good people who never committed a crime. Unfortunately however, their collective good name was besmirched due to the poor decisions of their leaders. And so it is with Penn State and Joe Paterno.

BTW, your rabid obsession with this football coach is more than a little creepy. Most of us would have forgotten about Paterno's involvement (or non-involvement) with Jerry Sandusky by now, and might eventually go back to remembering him as a good football coach, much like many of us now remember Pete Rose as a good ballplayer as opposed to a degenerate gambler, but you insist on keeping the controversy alive.

You can compare this to whatever your little heart desires. The fact is that Joe Paterno did nothing wrong.

Deal with it.
