Turkish military firearms have a long tradition with German quality. Turkey has license agreements with Rheinmetall and H&K to build their guns. The Rheinmetall gun is the MG3; the H&K guns are the MP5, G3A7, HK33, MSG90. I'd bet Canik has a license agreement with Walther; the Walther P99 is that close to the Canik 55 TP9.
