I was fortunate enough this morning to have a customer pay me-as soon as I find a texture roller online, I’ll go fill the 4Runner with gas and bring home a turkey, cheese and veggie pita from the deli for dinner this evening...

Around here, any halcyon days
Haven’t happened for awhile-
In this Obamaeconomy, often
It is hard to summon a smile

But there is a happy side, too-
With a misery index in place
For the first time since Carter
The would-be king loses face

Whenever a member of his party
Says please don’t help me campaign
With his numbers are in the toilet
He has nothing but contempt to gain...

All 3 of them (Torrijos, Paredes, and Noriega) were cartoonish. Here is the ENTIRE military action history of ‘General’ Torrijos: 1 battle near Quitimora village, shot in the ass as he turned to leave his troops and give command to his adjutant. Noriega used to sleep with his AK-47, not a woman. Read “In the Time of the Tyrants”. The book was written in Spanish and not well translated, and there are some hilarious translation errors within, for your amusement. Lot of dull stuff about which bus carried so-and-so, but some excellent vignettes of ‘los anos tyrannicos’.

I hope Turley isn’t planning any evening walks in Ft Marcy park or any such thing...

No te gusta el cilantro? Es lo mejor para frijoles borrachos y pico de gallo-I grow the stuff and use it in a lot of things...

Thank you!

I think there was either a mountain lion or a feral hog about halfway up from the river on Saturday night. I was out walking around with Husky girl just after 11:30 when I noticed that flashlight beam was down at the rock seats that I’d seen on 4th of July weekend-I started to go a bit further down to get a better look, and all of a sudden Husky girl leaned into me pushing back, and started to growl. Then I heard something walking quietly through the grass, up from the river which made the hair on my neck stand up. By then, the dog was headed for the deck, pulling at the leash, so I forgot about the spook and we went inside.

I’ve never seen Husky girl act afraid of anything, so I assume what we heard was one of those two animals-the most dangerous ones around here-it was moving through the grass with legs, not slithering under it, so it wasn’t a snake.

Yes-I used to watch that show. The burb I lived in near SA was on a greenway-the back gate opened onto a hiking/biking trail to the creek-there were coyotes and feral hogs there but no mountain lions-and it is darker out here, too-I can stargaze with no streetlight glare. I’m actually most afraid of feral hogs, because they are often 300-500 lbs-as big as a black bear-with long tusks, vicious and not afraid of anything...

I just watched D’Souza’s movie about Obama’s America and didn’t learn anything new. It was frustrating to be reminded how stupid people were to elect him, with all the anti-colonialism info out there in the open but the media refusing to give it any credence.

Right on, secret g. Nutmeg is the seed of the nutmeg tree (called myristica, biologically) and mace is the ground-up covering/skin/aril of the seed. Nicely done!

And yours was the first correct answer. WTG!

Sorry, xs, but that requirement only extends to you, because you are literate in Espanol and I **want** to be. Why crime anyone who simply doesn't speak Spanish. Shall I ask the questions in Russian (which I can do, but I haven't a Russian font on this computer.

Speaking of which: como se dice "nutmeg" y "mace" en Espanol?

If you don’t fancy coriander, m’FRiend, harvest the seeds and send those off to our colleague xsmommy. She DOES like coriander.
