I love the avalanche of excuses to not exercise at all.
5 minutes of semi-strenuous activity a day is just too much?
What about quality of life for your last 20 years? If you don’t move around, sometimes aggressively, you lose the ability to do so. Early. There’s a universe of difference between destroying your knees from running dozens of miles a week, and just running a little. The idea that working into a jog or light run for five minutes is somehow going to end your knees is garbage.
And if you ALREADY destroyed your knees or just refuse to get outside, there are elliptical running machines. I am a huge believer in these machines, especially learning how to use them WITHOUT the handles if you can. It works your core and balance while you get a wicked cardio workout FAST and without any knee impact.
Frankly, I think almost everyone should either own one or use one at the gym.
