better to eat complex sugars and let the body break them down,
How long does it take the body to break them down?
if you eat a simple sugar, the digestive juices will not let them get into the bloodstream in that form.
What can your stomach do to the already simplest sugars?

Hydrochloric acid tends to dehydrate simple sugars (with the formula C6H12O6) into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), which has no real nutritional value and is a potential carcinogen. Most HFCS has a certain amount of 5-HMF in it.
