In 2006, the Georgia Senate killed a bid to honor Jane Fonda, an Atlanta resident. A resolution was presented to honor her “post Vietnam” work and was killed 39-1 after a member of the Senate who was a retired Army Officer alertly ensured everyone knew it was on the agenda.

they wanted to honor her post Vietnam work?

She was an activist for liberal causes after Vietnam. Even if you ignore Vietnam, she was still a radical liberal activist, not worthy of any honor.

I think she once said it was a mistake to be photographed at the North Vietnamese military installation. But she has never expressed regret for going to Vietnam that I am aware of.
