If it gets any colder here the hibiscus will have to come in. Only 3-4 good blooms so far this year. With the cold it might be done!

We harvested our first tomato yesterday. It’s a miracle. It’s been too cold at night for tomatoes to ripen!

I remember when I was a kid my mom's side of the family held a big family reunion in some town in upstate New York where her ancestors got off the boat. It was likewise in late July.
The overnight low went down to 38F!
My parents had a motel room full of kids clad only in t-shirts and shorts. My dad dragged us all out shopping for cold weather gear in July, and all he could find were some Buffalo Bills sweatshirts buried on a clearance rack in an Ames store.
He bought one for each of us. Of course that meant we had already gotten our sweatshirt for the year. The Steelers were beginning that magnificent Super Bowl run and I was stuck wearing the crappy clearance Bills sweatshirt.
