The next time that you write that our country has moved irretrievably somewhere, start your sentence all over again and say something different because you know the first try has to be incorrect. There isn't any room for irretrievably in the future of a great nation.
What do you mean? Government has caused irreparable damage to this country, which has and will continue to compromise and undermine even our electoral process.

I didn’t write that our country had moved irretrievably to the left, I wrote that our president is trying to accomplish that. And he doesn’t have far to go. Virginia, North Carolina and Colorado, once solid bastions of conservatism, are now solidly “blue.” Once Texas goes “blue,” the White House will be irretrievable for conservatives.
