Rather than put him down, we decided to do hospice, because he is a valued friend.
We give him pain medication twice a day and will until the end.
Putting a friend down is very traumatic. As is this, but this allows him to go in his own way. Hurts just as much.
I am sorry to hear that. I just put down my 17 year old long hair a few weeks ago. Freak’n killed me to do it. We could have done the whole chemo/pain thing but at that point, aren’t we really doing it for us? I mean, if there’s no chance of recovery why put them through it? They rely on us to make that decision for them. Just my 2 cents and I am in no way mocking your decision. They’re family through and through. I hope you have a lot more time with your BW.
