FDNY ‘babying’ cadet who can’t pass fitness tests: classmate

She walked through her running tests and got winded climbing stairs, yet a physically unfit female FDNY probie was still allowed out in the field like a normal graduate — and given a year to pass, The Post has learned. “She’s literally the most pathetic specimen of physical fitness I’ve ever seen,” fumed an academy classmate of Choeurlyne Doirin, 39, who was given a uniform and a “light-duty” assignment even though she did not graduate on June 2 with the other 286 cadets. Prospective firefighters are required to complete a grueling 18 weeks of academy training that includes being able to run 1¹/₂ miles in 12 minutes without gear. But the over-the-hill Doirin failed to meet the required time, taking more than 18 minutes to huff-and-puff her way across the finish line.

Liberal policies have been killing innocent people for decades.
Our county has a huge fire department. Many years ago they lowered the physical ability testing so that women could pass. They did. After about 5 years on the job they were all off work because of being hurt on the job in some way. They just don’t have the physical strength to do the job. None of the women except 2 lasted very long and those 2 promoted up the ladder so fast that they promoted out of the ranks that actually did the physical work.
Now there are still women that get hired but they just don’t last long.
Disgusting. I recently watched a 85 y/o John Starr racewalk 10K (6.214 miles) in 1:14:05.1. That is an 11:55 per mile pace at more than twice age, and restricted by the racewalking rules. This woman has no business whatsoever in the field with any FD.
It’s the same everywhere, now we’re supposed to be happy that we don’t get the quality of services we pay for. I remember a couple of years ago there was a large city that agreed to waive the swim test for racial minorities to become lifeguards at the municipal pools.
I do not run. I am not in good shape, however, at 47 I am pretty sure that after 18 weeks of training I could run 1 1/2 miles in 12 minutes. Particularly since I can walk 1 mile to my sons school in less than 10 minutes at a brisk pace.
They made me one, but not by way of affirmative action.
Fire Departments are GOOD JOBS. They are paying starting salaries of $40K + a year and after five years over $75K. Plus benefits of more than 20K per year. They have no problem finding lots f people to enter the ranks. There is no reason to lower standards.

At graduation, the ceremony came to a halt while all the local pols jumped on stage to get a photo op with this cadet. The only cadet they did this with.

I had an inkling that Choeurlyne might look like that.
They should send her out on calls only to the neighborhood she comes from.
I have a female relative that has a similar situation. She failed to get into the military though trying out in several branches. She is overweight and probably has some emotional/psychological issues. She enrolled in divinity school and got in through chaplaincy in the Guard. She has struggled time and time again with PT and fitness requirements but she still is being retained.
In a community I work in, the FD has a ranking position filled by a woman about five feet zero inches tall, tops, and about one hundred pounds.
This crap is everywhere and the system is so corrupt leadership actually defends and endorses this stuff instead of tolerating political correctness.
I feel so safe at night knowing these defenders are on the watch.
Gee look at all the white women in that class. Yes, the FDNY is totally racist against blacks. Anybody who lives in NYC, next time you are driving around count how many white traffic cops see. You’ll be lucky if you find even one, but of course THAT is not racist.
We have an affirmative action POTUS so why not a firefighter.
Surely they can find some tough, skinny younger guys from the hood who can run like h*ll. If they really want a black female, they should be able to find a few that are not mounds of fat.....
