Appearances matter. All of our lives we were told that by our mothers, school teachers, employers and etiquette books.
"So how was your day Little Cindy?"
"Mrs. Krutz taught us all about fisting and lesbianism, I have a date with Lisa for sleep over"
"That's nice dear"
"Who is Lisa, sis, is she hot?"
"Oh, that my teachers first name, for when we aren't in school"
It does look like that, doesn’t it?
Gadzooks! She looks...sticky.
Thanks to everyone for posting and confirming that appearances really do matter. “Optics” only matter to Politicians and MSNBC talkers.
Especially if that last one sits on them.
Hey man. I dress by calendar. After April 1st and before Nov 1, I am in shorts. That is just the way it is.
Not at church, but every day.
Ricky was a band leader in a Club. He dressed appropriately.
What a nifty gadget, a cold box right in the house.... one day it's electric lights and now this... what's next an indoor toilet??
“I take a bath once a month whether I need it or not”
Well based o airline service, it is not unexpected to see the same people there as on Grey Hound.
But even at home, he always would be in his suit.
LOL but no.
Slovenly dress is bad enough, but then it spreads to eating habits and general behavioral sloppiness as well. Just another day in Obamaville.
If “adults” still need correction to guide them in basic social behavior, they are too far gone to say anything to them. It’s a big red flag that says they’ll be quick to pick a fight rather than get a clue.
SPLAT!
There was a time when wearing jeans was the ‘slob look’, now, wearing jeans is getting dressed up. Sweat pants, pajama bottoms, tattoos, and godawful body piercing is what people wear. Slouching towards oblivion, IMHO.
and the next generation will be worse than this one probably
If women stopped dating guys who look like trash this would all end.
The American Cultural Uniform: One dark T-shirt with smarmy, sexually oriented and/or idiotic messaging; one pair blue jeans, tattered by design; one baseball-style hat to help round off the stupid Larry-the-cable-guy look. Yeah! As I traveled back to the USA from overseas destination, the closer I got, I came in proximity of more and more of our citizens proudly donning the “uniform,” thinking they were unique and exceptional. They are/were just clones of the arrogant, ill mannered dregs that have become the bulk of a once great citizenry.
Absolutely. I wore a leisure suit in the seventies because woman dated guys who wore them. What were they THINKING?
Tell her they invented this new thing called "bathing"
and that it's fun.
