I hope you are better now-and step away from that book!

With poll numbers in the toilet
Obama plans yet another holiday-
DC is redolent of corruption,
So he packs up and goes away

Then he returns to “work” again
To make sure that he gets paid
While pretending to be useful-
It would be nice if he’d stayed

Or gone back to his paradise
Of Hawaii, where he was lazy
Instead of making speeches
That show the world he’s crazy...

I have been working just in the mornings when it is cool so I can get away from the fumes from the texture I was doing in a little Florida room that is not air conditioned. I’m finished now, but the customer won’t have money till next week-oh, well, they always pay, albeit late...

I’m cheering myself up by wearing Maja-I’ve worn it in summer forever-it is redolent of pleasant memories...

Hope you are feeling less pain this afternoon.

My house is currently redolent with the aromas of blueberries and lemons. We’re making jam today and are about to start on the peach. We went blueberry picking yesterday morning in the pouring rain and only found out after we got home that the tornado that struck a campground in VA yesterday was at the same time we were picking and only about 25 miles south of us. I’m sure that story has finished its run on the national news, but the folks involved are going to need thoughts and prayers for a long time, because the damage caused was not just confined to the campground.

Thank you!

Well, a lot of the liberal loons in Hawaii want to get rid of statehood be independent again, and since they really love Obama, he could move there and help them do that-and fulfill his dearest ambition-that of being a real king...

They’d probably want a king who was born there.

He was born in Hawaii, and he is an American citizen-I think the man is a total incompetent with delusions of grandeur, but he is not a foreigner-unfortunately.

The only conspiracy theory I buy into is that Lee Harvey Oswald was hired to do the hit on JFK-probably by the mob, or the Cubans.

My first husband and I used to take the cub camping on S Padre several times every summer, and he used to joke that the beach would be wonderful if they got rid of the sand and salt water. We always had a great time fishing, catching blue crabs in traps and shell hunting...

I just received word via the Parish “Weekender” newsletter that the teens and their chaperones (50 in all) will be returning Sunday afternoon, so perhaps they will be at your Sat. Mass. I hope so. They are good kids, although they don’t always dress like I’d approve! (Can the girls’ jeans get any tighter, or shorter?)

I hope your knee is feeling better. Try Aleve, or it’s generic. Aleve and an ice wrap helped me a lot. Plus Aspercreme rubbed on the scar.

I’m not a raving nutter, but would not bet the farm on Obama’s place of birth.

I think there is some very fishy stuff surrounding his birth - including the fact that he was supposedly born Aug 4 (I think) yet his mother left hawaii three weeks later with a newborn to attend college in Washington State. Perhaps his grandparents weren't as proud as they claimed and wanted her out of town? Even in Hawaii I don't think interracial relationships were that accepted in 1961.

However, I do believe he attended college on a foreign student scholarship - there is no other reason to completely shut down his school records when every other pres has had his open to the world

It is just too obvious to have been overlooked or covered up as clumsily as some say-he was born in modern times in a modern city-not in the 18th century in a cabin on the frontier someplace where hardly anyone could read or write and there were no courthouses.

There are so many other things wrong with his reign-I don’t see why some people obsess with that-it looks silly and it does not seem logical to me-it makes me think of that guy with the squirrel hair on H2 who insists everything was done by aliens. What the king wannabe does is what is outrageous, not his birth-even Nixon would have resigned by now-in fact, he did...

I think he got the foreign student scholarship because he had a foreign parent, lied, and no one looked closely-it is/always was easy to do. I went to college-and waited tables at the same club with-a girl whose mother was American and married a Mexican who worked for an American company. She was born in Harlingen, but lied and got a foreign student scholarship, which frosted me. But when her parents found out, they put a stop to it-too bad O’s mom or grandparents didn’t do the same...

There were girls I knew then, too who acquired baby siblings mysteriously, got whisked out of state to go to college suddenly, then appeared a year later, supposedly divorced with a kid that was definitely several months older than they said, etc and that was well into the mid-to-late 60’s.

You are likely right about her parents not being so thrilled about their daughter’s relationship, but it probably had as much to do with the rumor that he was still married in his home country and didn’t have an American divorce, making her a party to bigamy by default, and her child illegitimate. They weren’t lower class people, so they were probably appalled.
