Since she really likes the VP then I suppose I'm happy for her.
I wonder when it was that I ceased to be awed by the presidency.
Hmmm, I've gotten old, cynical and UN- impressionable.

LBJ, for me. There was still pomp and pageantry, even respect for the office, but not the awe of earlier years.

Maybe I was just growing up, and would have felt the same regardless of who was in the White House.

Thinking back, though, I think the media fostered the attitude shift, especially when Nixon won.

Somewhere in there, I realized we all wash or smell bad...
