It is quite sobering to think if the Nazi's had developed ICBMs and jet bombers instead of chasing around Der Fuhrers hair-brained flights of fantasies....

Wasn't the Arado Ar 234 a jet bomber? It was produced in highly limited numbers and was generally grounded by the lack of fuel, but it played a role in the German attempts to destroy the Ludendorff Bridge.
(I was on vacation last week and it was re-read Stephen E. Ambrose week.)
