Long article, so I'm excerpting. Saw Charlie with Joe Henderson and Al Foster at the Caravan of Dreams in Ft. Worth in 1986.

He and Scot LaFaro were close friends. I’ve just finished reading “Jade Visions,” the biography written by Scotty’s sister. It’s one of the better jazz biographies and has a lot of descriptions of his gigs and sessions. Highly recommended.
