Yep. a Golden Retriever. an EIGHT YEAR OLD Golden Retriever.
The most vicious kind.
Some cops shouldn’t be allowed to pack a weapon. Period.

It’s completely ridiculous! Golden retrievers are so calm that they are heralded as great pets for families with children.

I wonder if they would ever consider retraining the entire police force. Instead of shooting the dog, how about standing still for a second or two? Most dogs understand that and stop charging. They need to know that you aren’t a threat.

When we have a stranger coming, like the pest control guy, the plumber, the mailman, etc. we ask that they let our dog sniff their hands and shoes while they stand still. Next thing, the dog is wagging its tail!

I cannot understand why the police can’t be trained the same way as the postal delivery person.

Nothing is quite so terrifying as an 8 yo Golden Retriever that lunges at you. The snarling teeth, the soul shattering growl, saliva flying everywhere. No doubt we would all fear for our lives...

The training that is provided these perps needs to be reviewed. The shoot first, apologize later policy must be stopped. This dog slept inside the house with a 14 yo boy. There is no way he lunged at anyone. There has to be an office pool back at the precinct to see who can get to 10 kills first...
