I saw photos of Hendrix playing at the Marquis with The Beatles,The Rolling Stones,Clapton,The Who,Donavon,etc sitting in the audience. Some were even sitting on the floor because it was SRO!
Check out Chris squire’s interview of that hendrix marquis gig. The Syn opened for hendrix that night. Won’t elaborate here out of respect for the late great Johnny Winter. But squire’s comments are quite interesting.
Sad to see johnny pass and wish I could have seen him more recently. Last time was in late 90s or early 00s. Awesome player.
