In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
factitious (fak-TISH-uhs) adjective
1. Artificial.
2. Sham.
Example sentence:
"'For me, this is the only real place,' David says in the novel, but for the reader the city remains disappointingly factitious."
--Say Nice Things About Detroit; The New Yorker; Aug 27, 2012.
Etymology:
From Latin facticius (artificial), past participle of facere (to do). Earliest documented use: 1646.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

You say factitious.
I say fictitious.
Factitious. Fictitious. IT IS CRIMINAL either way.
The Tyrant’s background remains odiously fictitious
and factitious and continously hidden
as he meticulously destroys America by violating
the US Constitution for his Koran.

His socialist agenda ambitious
Presidential persona factitious
Since Congress does little
We’re caught in the middle
And the thoughts that we have are seditious

I think
mambo sauce may be more apropos. BTW, that's the song that the wedding party is going to be introduced to and we will walk in. It's played at Caps, Wizards and Redskins games.
Go-go is a uniquely DC sound.

saw that yesterday and was appalled. yes, he never had a chance and it grows dimmer as time passes. but what do you think about Rubio? is his goose cooked over immigration? he was on oreilly and sounded good to me. I know I thought he was dead in the water awhile back but wondered if that had ameliorated over time.
