LOL, no it is not true. I never dated Japanese, Chinese or Koreans. I have a Filipina. You can check out my profile page. Speaking in general, I would not say they are overly submissive. They have their opinions and will surely let you know what they think, but most are not into feminism, and family is most important to them.
I clicked on this article thinking that there would be lots of accompanying pictures and I was not disappointed.
