Serial numbers are good. The bones found in the Texas desert years ago turned out to be atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair identified by the number on a hip implant. Her two adult children were also found there, murdered by one of her own atheists.

You would be surprised - even cataract lens replacements have serial numbers that are recorded by the surgeon. That used to be part of my job :)

Although it never occurred to me until your post it seems possible that my hip replacement has a serial number on it.I always joke with my family that when I die I'll be worth at least some money thanks to the titanium in my hip implant (soon to be implants) and my several gold fillings. ;-)
