Right click on the task bar, go to properties, then click on navigation. You can get back the start button, modify the annoying charms, and other things.

I don't see that ability at all. Am I missing it?

X When I point to the upper-right corner, show the charms
X When I click the upper-left corner, switch between my recent apps
O Replace Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell.....
X When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start
X Show my desktop background on Start
X Show Start on the display I'm using when I press the Windows logo key
O Show the apps view automatically when I go to Start
O List desktop apps first in the Apps view when it's sorted by category.
