A California trooper has been filmed brutally beating a woman on the side of a highway - but authorities claimed he simply stopped her for her own safety.
A passing motorist recorded the unidentified California Highway Patrol officer as he punched the woman at least 11 times in the head along the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
On the video uploaded to YouTube, the woman can be seen trying to protect herself by putting up her hands but she does not appear to resist the trooper.
'The most animalistic, most brutal way to subdue someone is to pound someone's head into the concrete with really big blows to the head,' witness David Diaz told ABC7

This is true we can not know.
And it would be wrong for a police to do this.
I was not implying that would be acceptable.
I was actually acknowledging the possibility of excessive force after the situation was controlled.
But no one can conclude that, although people on these cop hater threads will do so.

There was no “possibility” of anything. What we all witnessed in the video is a psycho completely out of control cop sitting MMA style on a small woman ground pounding her. There is no other conclusion. Its plain to see. Only you and a couple of other idiots or more likely you are cops or your brother’s a cop don’t get it.
Maybe next week this cop will pull your wife over and give her a little street justice. Then we can all watch the video and debate the merits of how well she can take punch.

That cop is a pumped up steroid freak and he had no trouble throwing a small woman on the ground and beating her half to death.
Does even one of the five voices in your head tell you that something is wrong with the picture of a cop hitting a woman in the head about 10-15 times when she gives no resistance? You are the one with the mental problem.

I am amazed by those who insist absolutely every action taken by a cop is automatically justified.
It is not.
And pounding a woman in the face as this thug did is not justified.

If you’re sticking with the “she got pounded to keep her out of traffic” line: there are better less violent ways to keep people out of traffic.

I couldn’t see if any of the blows hit her face in the video.
