A hippie nicknamed Hitler allegedly honked her cars horn for half an hour in a Utah national forest, and then stabbed another camper when he asked her to stop. Hundreds of free spirits, bohemians and nudists were gathered in the park for the annual Rainbow Family jubilee.
So much for the summer of love.
A hippie named "Hitler" allegedly stabbed a man during a massive bohemian festival dedicated to peace and love. Leilani Novak-Garcia, known as "Hitler" among Rainbow Family hippies, was arrested Monday after police said she tried to kill a man at a Utah campsite, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The annual Rainbow Family gathering attracts thousands of free spirits, nudists and pacifists to national forests every summer, CBS explained. About 650 people gathered Monday in Utah's Uinta National Forest, ahead of the 2014 jubilee's main events scheduled for July 4.
About 1 a.m., Novak-Garcia started honking her car horn, police said. She continued for half an hour.
That's when another camper, 45-year-old Neil Sparling, asked the hippie to stop, KSL reported. Novak-Garcia refused.
So Sparling opened up the car's hood and tried to tamper with the fuses to disable the horn, police said.
Then Novak-Garcia allegedly stabbed the camper in his head and shoulder.
Park rangers found Sparling bleeding and took him to a hospital with serious injuries.
Police found Novak-Garcia hiding out at the campsite Monday night.
She was arrested on attempted murder charges and is being held on $20,000 bail.
The Rainbow Family has gathered every summer since 1972. Organizers select a different forest every year for the two-week event.
The gathering, described as a temporary hippie commune, is free to the public. It attracts between 10,000 and 20,000 people annually.
Good point!
The whole story cracked me up, although of course I’m sorry for the man who was stabbed.
Well, he was kind of asking for it. He didn’t let her do her thing.
Sounds like a very diverse person.
I blame White men for this.
