The “primitive” has a strong pull on this generation, as displayed in the relatively recent (and rabid) interest in first, tattoos, then piercings and now this shit. We are a lost generation, a lost society, desperate to have meaning and purpose with no direction as to how to find it or what it is. Maybe if we go backwards (into tribalism and primitivism and earth worship, etc), then we will find it, right??
