You do know that Shea was bulldozed into the ground 6 years ago. And since Shea was taken down, the attendance for the team has fallen by 50% between 2008 and 2013. The other teams attendance has dropped 25% in the same period. And the Yankees disagree with your assessment so much that they partnered up with Manchester City to own their own soccer team to start play in 2015, in Yankee Stadium. Let me see, who should I believe, you or the Steinbrenners.

Love baseball. Lover soccer. Soccer enthusiasm is definitely on the rise in the US, and kids are being drawn away from baseball to lacrosse and soccer.

That said, baseball will survive, but may have to cut back a bit on how many games played in a season. If soccer teams played as often as baseball teams, interest for each individual game would wane - likely even in Europe. The World Cup is so special in part because it’s every 4 years.

That’s why I put Shea in quotes, if you read my post correctly.

I must say that you guys are a little defensive on my tiny little post that soccer is not sweeping the nation, lol.

Manhattan bars have always showed soccer games as well as baseball & football. Many immigrants live in NYC and they are catered to.
