Years ago I got an invite to join Mensa. I met with them to find out more and found that I couldn’t breath in the atmosphere of “smug” that was there.
I went to a high caliber engineering school. EVERYONE was qualified to get into Mensa but the only ones that bothered with it were the ones that felt the need to PROVE how smart they were. Incidentally it was not the really smart ones that joined.
You are so right about that. I personally think that MENSA is an acronym for “My Ego Needs Some Affirmation.”
