I haven't stepped foot into a McDonalds in many years, but I can see that it's not just the "food" that is repellent.

Ditto that. I patronize a family owned cafeteria with real food, like roast beef, pork chops, mashed potatoes etc.

Speaking on a side note I went to MacDonalds very late the other night on a trip home. Ordered a Big Mac and my God it was awful bad. I had bought just 2 of them no meal deal or drinks and it cost over $8.50. Utter garbage never again as I hadn’t had a Big Mac in years.
