Question: Can JILL McDaniel run for Senate in Mississippi as a write-in?
6/26/14 | sff

Jill, a former Miss USA Mississippi pageant winner, is the wife of Chris McDaniel, whose selection by CONSERVATIVES was thwarted by the race baiting team of Thad Cochran.

I went to ballotpedia.org:

http://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_access_requirements_for_political_candidates_in_Mississippi

to find out if there was any reason Jill could not be a write in candidate.

Some of pointed out, I believe, that Mississippi, has a "sore loser" law that prevents CHRIS from running as a write-in.

One of the threads even repeats the MS Code verbatim.

The cite I saw was to the March 1st deadline, not write-in qualification. The post seemed to indicate that it referred to both. Other than that, there are references to a 3-1/2-year-old article in a Tupelo paper that quoted an SOS employee.

Any word if a recount is in the works? Do I understand correctly that if one voted in the Dem primary, one was ineligible to vote in the Rep runoff? Wonder how many votes that would impact, if true.

Organized into what? Another Gang of 14?
Id rather get rid of McConnell and Cochran
and let the chips fall where they may.

BTW, what exactly has McConnell done to fight the Rats and Obama?

Thanks.

Distressing.

But thanks.

If I were in Mississippi, I would have a very very very hard time voting for Cochran. 90% sure I would NOT do it.

The same thing happened with us and Charlie Crist. The day I learned he was going to be on stage with Obama early in 2009 after the Clown seized power, I called his office and told whoever was taking messages—PLEASE do not do this, it is wrong...the lady said she was hearing the same thing, and she too sounded unhappy about Crist’s intentions.

I said then I would NOT vote for him.

He made it much easier then by going Independent and then Democrat.

Weasel.

Cochran is the same way.

MS Code § 23-15-365 (2013)

(1) There shall be left on each ballot one (1) blank space under the title of each office to be voted for, and in the event of the death, resignation, withdrawal or removal of any candidate whose name shall have been printed on the official ballot, the name of the candidate duly substituted in the place of such candidate may be written in such blank space by the voter.

That provision doesn't exclude writing-in any other eligible person's name. It merely provides an example of a permitted name, IMO.

Well, at first I think, well with a senate majority, we get control of the agenda, and committee chairs, etc. Then, I realize that Republican or Democrat, the outcome will probably be the same ... if the house holds, it will be same-old, same-old, regardless of who holds the senate.

And, then, should Cochran be rewarded with another 6 years for what he just did?

No, voting for the dem does not send any kind of a message to the GOPe. It tells them the GOP should be more like the democrats. The answer is to vote for a conservative third party candidate. This tells the GOPe loud and clear just exactly how strong the conservative movement is within the GOP. This might still elect the democrat candidate but it does not give much of a mandate. Please, do not ever vote for a democrat in a national election, there is always an alternative.

We don’t know what he’d vote for since he’s senile.

Wrong, if Cochran is elected, the GOPe knows it can get away with any kind of despicable sleazy lies and election fraud. They know they can do as they please, kick the conservatives to the curb, and they will just come back for more. We need to stop voting for these people, EVER!

The execrable Thad Cochran is a socialist and a traitor. A vote for the execrable Thad Cochran is a vote for taking money at gunpoint from the Productive Class and handing it to the Parasite Class. This was his campaign promise, and have no doubt that he will honor it.

Thad Cochran delenda est

Ha. I’d love to see McDaniel concede and endorse the Democrat as being the only pro-life, pro-gun candidate for MS. THAT would put Haley and Cockroach in a bind.

Yeah, here we go. Give the seat to the democrat.

Chris lost. He didn’t lose fair and square, we know that, but he lost. Let’s hold our noses and keep the republican in office.

I’m not from MS so it’s not fight, but dammit our goal is to take the Senate. Chris will have his day, but for now let’s draw together and keep it a republican seat.

As I said, for whom Cochran will vote for when the senate is organized in Jan 2015... Big Difference

Wouldn't be the first time that Harry Reid bribed an elected Republican to change parties so he could maintain control of the Senate.

but for now let’s draw together and keep it a republican seat.

Tell that to Eric Cantor and his fellow RINOs.

They are not team payers as you would have McDaniels be.
