The American bloodlines are so diluted and calm, they’re suited for just about anyone who has a reasonable bit of dog experience.

I prefer the “hotter” Euros but would not recommend them for casual owners.

What do you mean by “general population”?

We should keep them in solitary confinement or what?

They’re currently ranked at #12 in the AKC registry [and that’s just registered dogs] so there’s an awful ot of them running around yet you *rarely* see them in the news unless they’re saving somebody’s life.

Unless they’re professional work dogs, they should only IMO be kept by those who live in the country and have the resources and know-how to keep them from escaping and/or endangering others.

There are many more safer breeds for pet owners to enjoy.
