I don’t mind the Greeks, not a big fan. But so it goes. I didn’t mind them winning Euro 2004 either, they were a new champion. I know people wanted Ivory Coast to win and Ivory Coast played Colombia well.
In the last World Cup final, what De Jong did was outrageous, that kung fu kick. It’s hard to see how some things in football/soccer are punished but other things not.
And biting people, in our American Football, Gridiron, that may well happen but when you see it during a soccer game, you think the guy has to be nuts.
So now I see the penalty, well, the refs haven’t called many in this tournament, might be a weak call but could be called it looks like. Tough way to go out of a tournament. Right before the action near the Ivory Coast goal, the announcer was saying “The Ivory Coast defenders are just walking back”.
Wouldn’t that be ironic that for how well Costa Rica has played, somehow Greece could challenge them well. Interesting.
