Can you point me to articles backing your claims. I just visited my family farm that has been in the family for more than 200 years... The ring forts are well preserved and respected for their history. Please point me to your claims.
Have a look here, here and here. The last one might be good for a chuckle. It's a shame. Maybe Ireland is too chock full of ancient sites that there's no way to avoid them.
