I find it very difficult to believe that this is ever going to be a stadium sport or pay-per-view, so, questionable money-making potential.
My college was probably one of the last ones (in the mid-late 70’s) to REQUIRE PE (for, as I recall, FOUR semesters), and, no, this did NOT count as conventional “hours”. I supposed they didn’t want to see overweight, 3-pack a day alumni engineers dropping dead in their late 40’s. I may not be in GREAT physical shape now, but I was at least passable then.
I believe that these pizza-stuffing, full-leaded (sugar) soda-guzzling couch potato gamers won’t see their mid-40’s without heroic (=expensive) medical care.

What about a pay-to-play? For a certain fee, you can engage the “best of the best” from the college team. I’m not a gamer, so I don’t know if this is feasible or marketable - just a thought...
