The Real Madrid winger scored 51 goals in 47 matches across all competitions in 2013-14, ending Lionel Messis four-year reign as world player of the year. Ronaldo has posted 252 goals in 246 appearances since joining the Spanish titans in 2009 the primary reason he is, according to Forbes magazine, the worlds second highest-compensated athlete at more than $80 million ($52 million in pre-tax salary, $28 million in global endorsements).

If the US wins the Group, they probably would get South Korea or Russia in the Group of 16.
If they finish second, they’ll probably get Belgium.
He added: "I imagine your happiness! What a beautiful World Cup!"
Keshi knows Klinsmann and Keshi has a home in Sacramento the announcers said during the friendly between the USA and Nigeria.
I’m glad it’s over - LoL!
Funny, probably won’t happen but conceivably, USA could send Germany home.
At first, some people were worried the two teams might have a “gentleman’s agreement” regarding the outcome of the game if it would be of help to the USA.
Poor Algeria, don't get respect, Zidane even could have played for them but they weren't interested in a similar situation to Poland and Podolski.
Blast it, good goal by Bosnia/Dzeko disallowed.
THAT’S A GOAL!
Something has to done about these horrible offside calls.
Nigeria’s goal counts.
Should be 1-1.
Keep your cool Boz, you are good enough to come back.
Oh, by the way, these referees are from New Zealand.

BBC commentary on the two controversial goals and no-goals of the first half:
DISALLOWED GOAL
Nigeria 0-0 Bosnia-Hercegovina

I almost spoke too early there. Striker Edin Dzeko is played through on goal by Miralem Pjanic and he calmly dispatches the ball into the net, only to find the flag raised for offside. Replays show the Bosnian was comfortably onside.

“We’re at a World Cup and in what league does he referee in? New Zealand. Thank you very much.
“That would have taken one second on a replay to say ‘goal’.”
Linesman, you’ve had a mare there.
Okay, that one should have counted but apparently, the Nigerian goal seems to be a split-decision.

“Emenike just wanted it more than Spahic. He outmuscled him, recognising he had the pace to beat him one on one. No foul from Emenike for me. If anything Spahic tried to foul Emenike.”

“I thought Spahic the captain was fouled. The ball is pushed past him and when I see a replay, it’s actually not a free-kick and a good finish by Odemwingie - side-footed, through the goalkeeper.”
They should stick to Rugby.
Okay, they had a whole game to try to get the goal back but both teams out of the former Yugoslavia were hard done by officiating in this tournament.
Feel your pain, Bosnia, you worked hard to get there.
Hope Croatia can go through, more now I’d say. It was a beautiful skillful goal. How could one be in New Zealand and live with oneself in making such a bad call.
Not Nigeria’s fault though, they didn’t make the ignorant call. Like Lalas said, perhaps Nigeria played fairly well.
But who knows what the course of the game would have took had the goal stood. Would Nigeria have scored?
The problem with reviewing offsides is that once the flag is raised the defense will react, so it makes it real tough to just video review. It’s not like football, where you just let a play run its’ course, then review.
I agree, it’s not the Nigerians fault. Play seemed to carry through though in this case, I don’t think the defenders were stopping.
Let’s not forget, I believe our USA team had a goal disallowed against Slovenia I think, I was watching that the other day. We had to score late to defeat Algeria as well. I remember that much. We may have had a goal disallowed in that one as well, these games from 2010. So, this is not something that is rare in the sport. With the Slovenes, we drew, we were able to defeat Algeria. Those things happen and yes, instant replay perhaps could add some remedy to atrocious calls. Then, OTOH, there is a lot of gray area in the game.
One can just hope the bad and good breaks even out. Easier to happen in a season than a one month tournament.
Nigeria eliminates Bosnia Hercogovina in controversial match Headline through the bing search is slightly different than on the actual page.
Bosnia-Herzegovina eliminated from World Cup with help from another bad offside call
In other news, The guy who ran on the pitch at the Germany/Ghana Match . (Nazi sympathizer?) A bit of an eye-opening story here.
This is a yahoo story so I'm just going to leave the link. I don't know if we can excerpt from them but it says after games, customarily 2 players from each team are tested but it says from a story from gazzetta.it , that 5 additional Costa Rica players were tested. Maradona slammed this news.
If this was already posted, apologies. I had no idea this went on.
