It has nothing to do with anything except whether a woman knows the difference between right and wrong and has the capacity to put the needs of her children before her own. That being said, the husband needs to know the difference between right and wrong and put the needs of his wife and children before his own.

I note that you don't expect a wife to put her husband's needs before her own. Any particular reason for this expectation?

Because the husband is supposed to provide and protect and if he doesn’t look out for the wife, no one will. Too many husbands want to be mommied and when there are kids that really need to be mommied, mommy can’t do it for husband too.

Is it a lonely job being a husband and a father? It can be. But it’s worse if you fail at it.
