Great quote. And I guarantee if Patton were alive today, if he saw a group of Americans playing for the world championship of ANYTHING, he damn well would be rooting for them to win, and not acting a like a prick toward his fellow (conservative) Amercians.
If you get really good at soccer, the world will switch to rugby or maybe cricket, anything that you don’t play.
They just wouldn’t be able to handle being whipped by the U.S.A. at soccer on a regular basis.
So if you want to get rid of soccer, get good at it.
Patton would hate soccer too. Notice he did not mention it in his quote, even though soccer has existed in the U.S. since 1913. Obviously, he did not think of it as worth mentioning.
