I loved Book of Eli.

While not exactly religious themed, I liked the reverence with which the Bible was treated and the apparent divine protection of Eli who carried it.

I loved that movie too.

The last scene, when he is dying and reciting the Bible was so moving.

I saw the Book of Eli a bit differently. It was the clearest representation of faith shown in a modern setting I have ever seen. Eli depended on God for everything, his food, water, self-defense, guidance, and health. When you consider the actual state of Eli’s eyes, his tremendous faith becomes abundantly clear.

I understand that others might have a completely different view of the subject as I saw that one person even watched the movie and thought Eli was a muslim — a “muslim” who just happens to love memorizing the entire Bible.

Needless to say, the Book of Eli is one of my all time favorite movies.
